these are the thoughts running through my mind when i agree to go wine tasting in sonoma over the weekend. i figured there would be lots of people out and about because of the holiday weekend especially given the fantastic weather. unfortunately, my date was not really into the whole scene -too much snobbery. *shrug*. but i did come up with some ideas and thought to help daters interact in this dating world:
1. following directions: cliche of cliches is the situation in which the man and the woman are in a car arguing about which way to go. i thought that in this day and age of GPS this situation would be a thing of the past. but people who don't/can't follow directions - still have problems getting places even if they have a GPS guided map and a voice telling them to turn. about the 15 time the system had to re-calculate i thought i heard some aggravation - but maybe i am just projecting.
2. his cell phone ring tone was p*ssy. need i say more?
3. participate is key: we agreed to go wine tasting but once we got to wine country he wanted to do everything but drink. no i do not want to go running barefoot in the park, play a game of pick-up basketball, or drive a sports car on the racetrack. i came to sonoma for wine tasting, if that's not what you wanted to do then why are we here?

at the end of the day, situation really boiled down to the fact that i did not enjoy myself in his company. not that he was a bad guy, just a guy with bad taste in ring tones.
